Saranda Resort is Venezuela's newest five-star Fishing Resort for World Class Peacock Bass and Payara fishing on Guri Lake.

Dining and Entertainment
For our Guest's dining pleasure, our dining area is located in the central gardens in the resorts largest Churuata. Decorated with ceramic tile, stained glass and wrought iron artwork, the dining area overlooks waterfalls, Jacuzzi and pool of Saranda Resort.
Our Executive Chef prepares Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner featuring North American favorites as well as traditional Venezuelan Cuisine with a mix of International Flavors.
The Peacock Pub
Guests can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the Peacock Pub, where you can sit back in large overstuffed chairs, enjoy some music, talk about the days fishing, watch the best Saranda catches on the big screen or a televised sporting event. Do you enjoy a little competition? If so, grab your fishing buddy and shoot a game of pool, play cards or play chess on our giant marble handcrafted chess board.
Guest Services
Our Guests Service Centre is located at the Front Desk of the Resort - there, our professional staff can keep you connected and can provide any services Guests may require during their stay.
Library - Keeping Connected
Located next to our Front Desk is our Guest Library. There, Guests can keep connected with two computers and printers, and high speed satellite internet connection - this is of course all complimentary to Saranda Resort Guests and available 24 hours a day.
Enjoy our Lending Library - offering a wide collection of books and DVD's that Guests can borrow during their stay.
Telephone Services
Saranda Resort is connected by satellite and Guests can make calls from the Library or from the comfort of their rooms.
Boardroom
Located in the Front Office Building our boardroom features, mini fridge, large coffee maker, counter, large boardroom table, 12 chairs, LCD projector, screen, whiteboard, internet connection, and telephone connection.
Laundry
Saranda Resort provides Guest laundry services -Guests can contact Guests Services for pick up or utilize the cloths hampers in each room. Housekeeping will pick up each morning and return that same evening.
Spa
Saranda Resort is constructing a Full Service Spa that will offer several types of treatment such as massages, manicures, and pedicures. We can hardly wait for our guests to experience the luxury and relaxation of our new spa facility.
Fishing with Saranda
Fishing with Saranda Resort will undeniably be one of the greatest experiences of an Angler's life. Lake Guri is one of Venezuela's best kept secrets offering explosive Peacock Bass action from the time of arrival to ones regrettable departure.
There is also another species that is targeted on Lake Guri; the mighty Payara. These prehistoric fish with its large teeth are definitely the king of the jungle. It is highly recommended to take the extra excursion up to Uraima Falls and fish for these powerful predators.
Saranda Resort takes pride in providing comfort for the Anglers while fishing Lake Guri. We are proud to have 16 boats, all of which are custom made, 23 Feet, aluminum hull twin engine jet boats. They are equipped with electric trolling motors, GPS, fish finders, radio communications, CD stereos, retractable canopies, and a cooler full of snacks and beverages. We limit each boat to two anglers, allowing lots of room for fishing. All of Saranda's guides have years of experience on the lake and are experts at locating fish throughout the seasons.
Saranda Resort is also a proud member of the Peacock Bass Association, the American Sportfishing Association, and the International Game Fish Association. We participate in the IGFA Certified Scale Program and Guests who have a World Record catch can get into the record book !
A typical fishing day at Saranda Resort starts with breakfast being served as early as 5:00am; this allows for the avid Angler to get out on the Lake and to get that early bite as soon as the sun rises at 6:00AM. Now please keep in mind that your guide is your personal guide and if you would like to sleep in a little - your boat and guide will be ready at whatever time you so desire to go out on the water. Once Anglers are on the Lake there is a 45 minute boat run out to the best fishing location for the Peacock Bass. Throughout the day your guide slowly works back towards Saranda Resort. When 12 noon rolls around it is time for lunch and siesta - we provide either a shore lunch at a designated site or a meal on the boat. Fish again until 5:15 - 5:30PM then back to the Saranda Resort dock to share your stories with friends and other Guests.
This is what we call perfect day fishing!!!
Peacock Bass
If its bone-jarring strikes and aggressive top water action one is after, the Peacock Bass is for you! It is not uncommon to have hooks or split rings straightened out from these powerful and beautiful fish, and the bigger they get, their attitude matches. Pound for pound, the Peacock Bass (or Pavon as the call them) is one of the strongest freshwater species in the world.
Although its anatomy closely resembles a Largemouth Bass, the Peacock Bass is not a Bass at all, but rather is a member of the Cichlid family. A common characteristic for these fish is the black circular "eye spot" on the base of the caudal fin. One unique trait for these fish is their cheek markings. Each and every Peacock Bass has its own individual markings, very similar to fingerprints on a human. Actively breeding male Peacocks have a prominent hump on their head. One or many theories is that it is used as a battering ram in battles with other males and to protect their territory.
Payara
The mighty and powerful Payara is at the top of the food chain in Lake Guri's fresh water. They prefer to reside in extremely fast water and take lures with such savage force that an Angler can easily have the rod ripped from his/her grasp if not paying close attention. Once hooked, a large Payara will effortlessly peel off tons of line, despite leaders, strong drags, and stiff rods! Payara also make repeated acrobatic and aerial jumps, which adds to the fish's allure.
When one first looks at a Payara from below the head, it has many similarities to a Salmon. However, once seeing the head, the angler quickly realizes that this is a prehistoric creature that was made to do one thing; EAT. Payara have two distinct fangs that protrude from the lower jaw which actually fit perfectly into holes in the top of its jaw, which allows its mouth to close. A Payara's jaw purposely dislocates, making its mouth open wider. When it attacks its prey (which is mainly piranha), the Payara uses its big fangs to pierce its food, and uses its smaller sharp teeth to eat with.
The La Paragua River is where Saranda Resort targets these beasts. This is where the current I.G.F.A. all tackle World Record was caught, along with all the World Record line class categories, with the exception of one.An angler's chance of catching a big Payara on the La Paragua River is very high!

Deluxe Suites
Saranda Resort's Deluxe Rooms offer the traditional amenities of a North American style accommodation, with the added touch of Venezuelan craftsmanship.
Deluxe Rooms each have a semi-private verandah which overlooks the Botanical Gardens of Saranda Resort and is decorated with rattan chairs and an outdoor patio table. Each room is appointed with either one King or one Queen Size bed, and has a large bathroom with shower which has running hot and cold water. We provide TV and DVD player in each room along with CD alarm clock, mini fridge, coffee maker, and air conditioning.
Executive Suites
The Executive Suites are unique in layout and are distinctive in decoration, providing a one of a kind atmosphere and special experience in each room. Every suite has a private terrace with rattan chairs and table. Rooms are decorated with ceramic tiles, dark rich woods, blended with relaxing earth tones and local handcrafted iron work. Rooms are 1200 square feet highlighting a large living area with custom leather sofa and chair, armoire with TV, DVD, and decorated with one of a kind Venezuelan paintings and local Venezuelan art. The bedrooms are oversized with King or Queen sized bed, night tables, CD alarm clock, dresser, oversized closet, coffee maker, mini fridge and oversized bathroom with larger shower (hot and cold running water) and air conditioning.
Presidential Villas
Nestled in seclusion of the Botanical Gardens of Saranda you will find the paradise of our Presidential Villas.
The three Presidential Villas of Saranda Resort offer 2500 square feet of luxury space. Each has a private terrace with oversized rattan patio furniture, overlooking the Villa's private pool, Jacuzzi and view of the botanical gardens. Villas are individually decorated with ceramic tile, dark rich woods, blended with relaxing earth tones, all highlighting original Venezuelan paintings and artwork. The Villas feature custom leather sofa and chairs, calf skin throw rugs, large windows, large screen satellite Direct TV and DVD, armoire, mini fridge, coffee maker, and air conditioning. Oversized bedrooms with luxury king size beds with feather pillows and lightweight duvets, dresser, CD alarm clock. The oversized bathrooms in each Presidential Villa provide oversized showers and a two person whirlpool Jacuzzi with large windows overlooking the botanical gardens of Saranda Resort. A true Paradise for anglers and non-anglers alike!

Price & Payment
Unless otherwise stated, at the time of booking only a deposit is due. The remanining balance is payable on check-in and charged by the hotel direct. hotel-savings.com accepts Visa, Mastercard & American Express.
For security purposes, should your reservation incur a charge in excess of USD 400.00, you must submit a signed credit card authorization form. This will be supplied upon confirmation of the reservation. If you fail to fax across this documentation within 48 hours, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation. Please note that as per our cancellation policy, there may be a fee for this.
Flight Information
If you are to arrive at your hotel after 5pm, please provide Hotelrentalgroup with your flight information, so that we may be able to advise the hotel of what time they can expect you. Should your flight be delayed, we strongly recommend that you contact the hotel directly to inform them of this.
Period of Stay / Rate Calculation
All stays are calculated and sold "per night". We can only guarantee a room until noon (12pm). Late check-outs can be requested at the moment of reservation in the additional comments box, but may come at an additional fee (usually 50% of the nightly rate).
Cancellation Policies & Charges
Cancellations must be received in writing by e-mail, with as much notice as possible. Penalty fees may apply. Please check the terms & conditions, as these policies vary from hotel to hotel.
Cancellation Charges On All Reservations
-On all confirmed reservations, 20% of the total amount will be lost.
-Further cancellation charges may apply depending on the hotel.

No Shows
No Shows will result in a 100% penalty fee.
Reservation & Confirmation
All reservations made on the web sites operated by hotel-savings.com will receive a temporary confirmation number. This temporary number does not mean that the hotel room is available and is only for administrative purposes. Your final confirmation will be sent to you on your official confirmation voucher within 24 hours, unless, due to unforeseen circumstances, the hotel does not get back to us within this time frame. hotel-savings.com is not responsible for any such delays.
Early departures
In addition to the standard cancellation policy, we would like to stress the point that the hotels are very strict regarding changes to the length of clients’ stays. Therefore we would like to inform you that clients departing before their booked check out date will be charged for the remaining nights and, no being made for unused nights.
Check In & Check Out Policy
Your room will be made available to you from 14h00 (unless stated otherwise in the terms & conditions of the hotel). Should you require a guaranteed early check in, the room must be booked and paid for in full for the day preceeding your stay.
Check out time is 12:00 hrs. For a guaranteed late check-out, clients should book for an additional night, charged at 100%.

All special offers, packages and discounts over our standard rates are offered subject to availability. hotel-savings.com cannot accept any responsibility in the unlikely event that these are temporarily unavailable.

In order to secure a room, it is mandatory to have a credit card.

All reservations made by clients are subject to our terms and conditions. No other terms, conditions and warranties, expressed or implied by law, custom and course of dealing shall form part of any contract between hotel-savings.com and our clients except for those terms imposed by law where application is mandatory.
The client acknowledges that in making a reservation with hotel-savings.com they do so only on the basis of the material contained in the hotel-savings.com Web Site or relevant advertising medium. All other statements or representations made by hotel-savings.com, its employees, agents or sub-contractors are of no effect unless confirmed in writing by hotel-savings.com to the client.
hotel-savings.com sources hotels from various hotel companies in the countries in which it operates. The condition of the stay will be subject to the law of the country in which it is supplied to you. You will be subject to its terms and conditions and local law.
hotel-savings.com reserves the right to pass on to the client any government increase in local VAT or other taxes that may be introduced after a reservation is made. Any additional charges payable on arrival are subject to local VAT at the prevailing rate in that country.
The liability of hotel-savings.com to the client for any loss, problem, damage or cancellation, whether arising out of negligence, breach of contract, error or any other cause shall not exceed the invoiced total value of the confirmation voucher supplied by hotel-savings.com.
